Overall Purpose of the Job
Ensure quality of welds and dimensional acceptance in accordance with policy, plans, specifications, drawings, and regulations in an oil and gas industry manufacturing facility.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
Perform NDT inspection (MT and VT) on manufactured components.
Interpretation, Evaluation and Reporting of NDE as per relevant code and specifications.
Select and apply appropriate testing methods based on material type, structure and geometry.
Monitor in-process work, ensuring that the products produced conform to Expro and customer specifications.
Assist in providing technical support in fabrication specifications, material joining, and quality related issues.
Prepare inspection reports and review job files to ensure all required documentation is contained within.
Assist in the maintenance of an effective system for the calibration of all inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
Demonstrate leadership by giving clear, complete, and accurate information on quality requirements, process standards, potential health and safety hazards, and potential process difficulties.
Ensure appropriate follow up action is taken in the event of product or service nonconformance, or customer complaint.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
Certified as a Level II in accordance with SNT-TC-1A (ISO 9712 NDT Level II, ANST NDT Level II, ACCP NDT Level II).
Familiarity with the heat treatment of steel alloys.
Familiarity with welding procedure development and qualification for structural steel welds.
Familiarity with nondestructive and destructive examination of materials.
Experience in the use of inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
Capable of reading a minimum of Jaeger Number 2 or equivalent type and size letter at a distance of not less than 12 inches on a standard Jaeger test chart.
Good communication skills.
Must have initiative in problem solving.
Responsible attitude toward work.
Ability to work on projects individually, as part of a team, and/or act as a team leader.
Have annual visual examination to assure natural or corrected near distance acuity such that they are capable of reading standard J-1 letters on standard Jaeger test type chart for near vision or equivalent methods.
