What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse/Yard Manager position at Extech Building Materials?
· This position works as part of a team with various departments to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse and inventory management.
Inventory:
· Manage cycle counts and yearly inventory; binning movements and adjustments
· Coordinate transfers to and from other locations, including documentation
· Inform Inventory Control to remove from inventory as well as reporting damaged material, and material for in-house use.
· Approve/ Reject Materials for customer returns
· Provide inventory adjustment reports
Receiving:
· Check all incoming material for paperwork accuracy
· Direct warehouse employees for proper storage of materials
· Mark receiving documents for any shortages, damage, errors or RMA’s
Outgoing Material:
· Oversee staging materials and loading of outgoing trucks
· Work with Branch Manager and sales team and warehouse coordinator to provide efficient customer pickups
Storage
· Rotation of expired materials
· Maintain labelling of products and bins
· Organize warehouse, assure cleanliness and safety throughout the warehouse and yard
Equipment and Facility:
· Work with outside Vendors on facility Systems including Sprinkler, electric, roll doors
· Coordinate and assure safety and operational training for all warehouse equipment.
· Manage all fuels for fork lifts and other operation fuels kept on hand.
Warehouse Management: Assignment and monitoring of hours, overtime and coverage.
Qualifications
· Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
· Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
· Valid drivers' license.
· Proficient computer skills
· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
· Bi lingual is a plus
· Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 system a plus.
Physical Demands
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
