What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Advocate Assistant position at Extended Family Care?
Extended Family Care, a home care company who has built a reputation for delivering an exceptional standard of home health care for children, adults and seniors has an immediate need for Patient Care Advocate Assistant in our Pittsburgh office.
As a Patient Care Advocate Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) mobile applications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and maintain the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system to ensure accurate data entry and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Review and verify caregiver logs, including time entries, location, and services rendered, ensuring all necessary information is accurately recorded.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in visit data in a timely manner.
- Validate that caregiver visits align with the scheduled care plan and that all required documentation is submitted for each visit.
- Generate and review reports for compliance with EVV requirements.
- Communicate with home care staff to rectify any data or visit verification issues.
- Ensure that any missing or incorrect data is corrected before submission.
- Ensure that all services provided comply with the applicable federal and state regulations for home care and EVV protocols.
- Assist in regular audits to ensure that EVV documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Work closely with the Patient Care Advocates to ensure any deficiencies are promptly addressed.
- Stay updated on changes to EVV regulations, technology, and best practices and communicate relevant updates to the team.
- Address any client or caregiver concerns regarding the EVV system or related issues.
- Assist caregivers with understanding and following proper documentation protocols to ensure smooth visits and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all visit verifications, including but not limited to visit dates, client names, caregiver names, and the specific services provided.
- Assist with Scheduling of field staff as needed.
- Accepts additional tasks as needed.
Job Requirements:
- High School/GED with some College or business education preferred. One or two years experience of office work in a health care environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of EVV systems and how they are used in the home care industry a plus.
- Strong communication, telephone and organizational skills necessary.
- Computer literate, good interpersonal skills.
- Previous home health care experience a plus.
