Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team at a busy primary care clinic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional clerical support, ensuring efficient front desk operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical software, and a commitment to upholding patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Hiring to start on Mondays and Thursdays 8 am to 4 pm (occasional 1 pm to 7 pm) with opportunity for advancement.
Position does not allow for paid vacation or sick leave, but schedule is flexible.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Manage incoming phone calls with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the clinic's calendar.
- Collect and verify patient information, ensuring accuracy in records management.
- Process patient payments and handle insurance claims as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to enhance the patient experience.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth office operations and provide medical administrative support.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or other medical software systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in clerical duties related to medical administrative support is advantageous.
