So, who are we? Extended Pharmacy is a closed-door pharmacy that supplies medications to residential care facilities by way of delivery. We were originally founded in Illinois but with a mission to maintain our small pharmacy roots. Our growth has led to alternate locations including here in Indiana, offering the same focused attention on the communities we serve as we intended from the beginning.
Duties and Responsibilities - Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for ensuring the availability of medication and delivering medications to the correct communities. Here are some of their primary duties and responsibilities:
· Supporting pharmacological services by assembling, stocking and distributing medications
· Maintaining records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders received by physicians
· Sorting, stocking and labeling medications and monitoring inventory
· Responding to the requests of patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacist
· Complying with rules, regulations and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilizing equipment and surfaces
· Processing prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is accurate and complete
· Receiving, triaging, and fulfilling new orders, refills, medication time pass changes
· Experience working with automated packaging systems while seeing many of the more traditional dispensing methods

· Package medications as instructed per patient request – vial, bulk items, punch cards, ATC multi-dose packaging, etc.
· Verify mediations are placed in appropriate container for shipping
