What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Intensive Special Education Teacher Extended School Year position at Extended School Year?
This position is for Extended School Year, Summer 2025. The program will run July 8, 2025-August 8, 2025. Students will be in session Monday through Thursday each week.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for students with diverse needs, including medical, physical, and intellectual disabilities.
- Plan and implement individualized lessons based on student needs, utilizing differentiated instruction and applied behavior analysis strategies.
- Use and train staff on total communication systems and assistive technology to support student learning.
- Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction, accommodations, and progress on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Serve as a case manager for assigned students, maintaining communication with parents, staff, and administration.
- Conduct academic assessments and provide appropriate modifications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Respond professionally to unpredictable situations, including behavioral challenges and medical needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and paraprofessionals to maximize student success.
- Maintain confidential records and adhere to district, state, and federal special education policies.
- Participate in professional development and staff training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by building or district administration to support ESY programming.
