Responsible for the cleaning and preparation of rooms for the hotel guest in compliance with hotel-brand standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clean assigned rooms according to system standards and best methods. This includes but is not limited to making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming carpet, and dusting furniture.
Place and restock useable items in the guest room including paper items, soap, towels, etc. according to hotel standards.
Clean exterior entry, hallways, and windows, according to hotel standards.
Operate housekeeping equipment in a correct and safe manner. Report any equipment malfunctions to the General Manager and/or Maintenance department.
Assist with guest laundry completion as required.
Maintain and restock housekeeping cart each day.
Know hotel emergency procedures and be prepared to carry out.
Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys, or keys left by guests in room.
Follow the Lost and Found program.
Report immediately to the General Manager any “out of the ordinary” situations in the guests’ room, including parties in the room, unusually dirty rooms or a vacant room when the room is thought to be occupied.
Complete maintenance work orders and deliver to designated area in a timely manner.
Accommodate guest special requests courteously and with a sense of priority.
Answer guest’s questions regarding local area facilities and services.
Expected to carry out all reasonable requests by Managers/Supervisors which the associate can perform.
Hotel is open 7 days each week, weekends and holidays are required.
QUALIFICATIONS - BACKGROUND CHECK MANDATORY
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Required Knowledge: Basic knowledge of suite cleaning procedures and laundry equipment.
Experience Required: Previous hotel experience in a housekeeping role.
Skills/Abilities: Customer service, communication, organization, time management, prioritization, ability to meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Talking: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly.
Average Hearing: Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level.
Repetitive Motion: The employee is regularly required to move about the hotel cleaning rooms throughout the day.
Finger Dexterity: The employee is regularly required to use hands to clean.
Average Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Physical Strength: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time. Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends
WORKING CONDITIONS
General hotel environment with climate control and adequate lighting. May be exposed to chemicals, solvents and cleaning solutions.
MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Being able to differentiate between performance standards required and performance standards not meeting requirements
Mathematics Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly
