JobDescription/Summary:Housekeeping'sprimarygoalistocleanthehotelroomsbetweenguestsandpublicareas.Thisincludeschangingallofthebedding,makingthebed,vacuumingthecarpetandwashingthehardfloors.Thecleaningprocessalsoincludesastrictcleaningofthebathroomtoensurethatitremainssanitary.Housekeepingwillalsodustandcleananyhardsurfacesandfurniturewithintheroomandfrontofficespaceaswellasalltheglassandwindowsthroughouttheproperty.EssentialJobDutiesandResponsibilities: Housekeepingistobeclean,orderly,andsanitary. Floorsaretobecleananddry. Flammableandcombustibleliquidsaretobekeptincoveredcontainers, Disposalcontainersusedforliquidsorsolidsthatmayturnputridmustnotleak,andtheymusthavetightfittingcovers; Sweepings,wastes,andrefusemustberemoved;and Nofoodorbeveragescanbestoredintoiletroomsorinanareathatisexposedtoatoxicmaterial. Housekeepersmustscheduletheirworktonotinconvenienceaguest.Theyknockandwaitaround10secondsbeforeknockingagainannouncing“housekeeping.” Housekeepersinahotelchangelinen,washthefloors,dustsurfacesandcleanthebathrooms Housekeepingdepartmenthastochangeallsoaps,shampoos,lotionsandtowelsonadailybasis. RoomAttendantsshouldusesafeantisepticstosterilizefloorsandsurfaces RoomAttendantsaretoleaveallitemsleftbehindbyguestinthelostandfoundandlogtheitem(s)inthesystemrightaway RoomAttendantsmustalsorespectaguest’spersonalitemsbynottouchingormovinganyitemsthatlookexpensiveorfragile. Inaddition,whilehotelsallowandencourageappreciationbygueststhroughtipping,RoomAttendantsshouldnotsolicittipsornegotiatetheamountwithaguest.
