Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Engineer I, Pipeline Integrity with pipeline integrity program management experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!

 

Role Summary:

  • The Engineer I, Pipeline Integrity is an intermediate-level Engineer role with responsibilities to support the various programs that comprise Buckeye’s Pipeline Integrity program. 

 

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:

  • Pipeline Integrity Program Support. Supporting the implementation of Buckeye’s Pipeline Integrity Management Programs (IMP), including, but not limited to,

    • Receiving and performing quality control of in-line inspection (ILI) and hydrostatic test reports to ensure reports comply with company standards.

    • Performing analysis to determine re-assessment intervals.

    • Supporting the pipeline repair determination process.

    • Coordinating pipeline failure and metallurgical analyses.

    • Participating in reviews of the Pipeline IMP and other relevant manuals.

  • Data Integration & Management.  Maintaining Pipeline Integrity related databases and tracking tools and interfacing with Corrosion Control, GIS, and other corporate programs as required to integrate data in support of the overall Pipeline IMP activities.

  • Risk Management & Mitigation.  Conducting risk analyses to determine which assessments, repairs, and preventive/mitigative measures may be performed and their timing.

  • Stakeholder Engagement.  Communicating critical Pipeline Integrity program/project concerns related to risk, scope, schedule, cost, etc.

  • Project/Program Management.  Managing field execution of Pipeline Integrity special projects.  

  • Department Support.  Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.

  • And other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or related field is required.

  • Experience: Typically, 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Special skills:  Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications required.

  • Special skills:  Proficiency with SQL, ESRI GIS, Power BI, FME, Python, R, or other programming languages to perform data analysis is helpful.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes relating to pipeline integrity management is required.

  • Travel Requirements: 10% travel possible.

 

Certificates & Licenses:

  • Engineer-in-Training certification is highly desirable.

 

Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
  • In order to be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
  • The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.

  • This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

  • This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.

 

Physical & Safety Requirements:

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • This role continuously operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • May require walking the pipeline right-of-way.
