Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Commercial Operations with pipeline and/or terminal marketing experience and a passion for customer relationships to join our team!
Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, Commercial Operations role is responsible for supporting business development efforts and managing strategic growth and acquisition efforts to maximize the contribution made by operations to overall corporate objectives.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
- Margin Optimization: Develop and execute plans to improve the overall profitability of assets (pipelines and terminals) within assigned area of responsibility.
- Budget: Create an annual revenue budget by evaluating customer input for designated area of responsibility. Achieve or exceed budgeted volumes and revenues at assets (pipelines and terminals) within assigned area of responsibility.
- Business Development: Develop and execute on incremental business opportunities within areas of responsibility, demonstrating return on investment and other economic hurdles necessary to meet corporate guidelines.
- Customer Service: Consistently demonstrate exemplary customer service satisfaction through regular customer contact, responsiveness and understanding of customer's priorities.
- Competitive Analysis: Identify and evaluate business trends within area of responsibility, for budgeting / forecasting and reporting to Senior Management.
- Contracts: Prepare customer throughput and storage agreements, new or amended pipeline tariffs, and volume capacity commitments.
- Pricing: Provide analysis in establishing and maintaining pricing structures in order to maximize overall revenues.
- M&A: Assist in the assessment and analysis of potential acquisitions.
- Strategy: Participate in the development and execution of strategies and tactics to maintain and grow base business.
- Project Sponsor: Ability to serve as project sponsor on moderate scale growth projects.
- Regulatory: Possess a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations affecting the business.
- And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business, engineering or other related discipline
- 8 years of industry related, refined products experience is required, preferably with strong aptitude in the following areas: Customer Service, Finance, Business Analysis, Engineering, Operations and Logistics/Scheduling
- Must possess a strong understanding of the petroleum pipeline and terminal business
- Previous experience in a commercial role (e.g. business development) is required
- Significant travel is required.

- Ability and willingness to travel is required
