Ravenscroft is an independent, coeducational day school in Raleigh, NC, with approximately 1,250 students in grades PreK-12.
We are looking to welcome an Extended Day Assistant Teacher into our community of educators that actively strive to be diverse, equitable and inclusive. Reports to: Extended Day Director and Co-Director
As the Pre-K and Kindergarten Extended Day Assistant Teacher at Ravenscroft, here is what you get to do:
- Assist during age-appropriate activities for children within Program structure
- Stay alert to any safety concerns in regards to the student during play, homework, etc.
- Communicate with parents on the students' progress
- Maintain clean and nurturing environment
- Contribute to general planning for the Program
- Coordinate activities and field trips for students
- Monitor facilities for safety issues, and report them to the Coordinator
We are looking for someone who:
- Has great communication skills: tact in dealing with parents, colleagues and children in school setting
- Has experience working with youth and demonstrates a desire to do so
- Flexibility in work schedule to help with Early Release Days and Teacher workdays and other additional hours as required by the School
- Has a background and/or Degree in Education or related fields preferred
- Is dependable, possesses a good work ethic, and is able and willing to work with other staff in a cooperative manner
