Job Summary:
The Manager of Revenue is a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in ASC 606. This position will oversee revenue recognition processes; including recognition, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves preparing reports, analyzing trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align practices with organizational goals. Additionally, the Manager will work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to ensure strategic alignment with SHRM's organizational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for senior management.
Analyze revenue trends to provide actionable insights that drive growth across products and business lines.
Develop and maintain processes to ensure revenue is recognized within the correct revenue stream (B2B vs B2C)
Collaborate with the Sales and Revenue Operations teams to ensure alignment and achievement of revenue goals
Partner with third-party distributors to ensure correct revenue recognition for relevant SHRM products
Conduct audits of revenue systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to policies.
Work closely with the Information Technology team to understand the connection between invoicing, revenue recognition, and service terms; document and implement policies to ensure correct revenue recognition
Partner with FP&A to build cost/benefit models to contribute to cross-functional strategic projects and provide actionable financial recommendations
Provide B2B and B2C business owners with accurate and timely revenue reports, to include a detailed list of transactions and relevant support
Support with the commissions accounting process and partner with compensation teams to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria.
Assist in preparing and developing SHRM’s annual revenue budget and participate in budget planning sessions.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure proper revenue recognition practices
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience.
Proven expertise in accounting systems, general ledger integration, billing systems, or revenue recognition.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Advanced experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
In-depth understanding of general ledger systems, financial charts of accounts, and corporate procedures.
In-depth knowledge of ASC 606
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret and act on complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.

The hiring range for this position is $98,000 to $129,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
