Purpose
Lead the Family Services team to ensure a fully staffed and trained team supports our families throughout their foster care journey and ensures all families comply with the licensing standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and developing the team, including recruitment and retention, hiring, orientation, supervision, evaluation and promotion.
- Supervise family services specialists and ensure foster parents’ files comply with Virginia Licensed Child Placing Agency (LCPA) standards and the company’s policies and procedures.
- Facilitates individual and group supervision with the family services team. Ensure that company, department, compliance, and team meetings are conducted according to company standards and that reporting is executed.
- Support the recruitment department by completing all home studies promptly to achieve the company recruitment goals. Ensure all new families gain relevant experience through the respite of TFC children.
- Support the admissions department by collaborating on family match requirements and intake of admitted foster children.
- Manage family assignments to team members, balancing workload and managing a caseload as needed. Support the team and families by resolving conflicts and concerns.
- Understands and effectively utilizes all company systems to track family data, including Customer Relation Management (CRM) and Electronic File Systems. Ensure prompt updates and maximize automation where possible.
- Conduct continuous quality improvement processes such as program evaluation or review of policies and best practices.
- Manages short-term foster care (respite) by tracking and providing notifications to other departments, including accounting for billing.
- Assesses foster parents and the ability to provide trauma-informed parenting techniques. Utilizes knowledge of families to collaborate with Foster Parent Trainers on developing relevant training.
- Participates in ongoing foster parent training and ensures families have met their annual training requirements.
- Provide guidance agency-wide regarding foster home documentation.
- Assists with editing and approving family services documentation
- Assist with crisis intervention and serve as the on-call case manager, supervising and supporting staff as assigned.
- Assists in event planning for area families and team-building events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written with all staff, vendors, and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently in a hybrid work environment.
- Ability to maintain and establish records and files.
Education/Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or sociology, or a related human service field degree from an accredited college, is required.
- A master’s degree in social work, psychology, or sociology, or a related human services field degree from an accredited college, is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years providing services to children and families is required.
Other Requirements:
- This position requires a valid Virginia driver's license.
- Evenings and weekends are required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $56,000.00 - $61,000.00 per year
