Extreme Engineering Solutions is seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for 3D modeling of heat frames for single-board computers (SBC) and supporting the creation, review, and refinement of detailed drawings. Bring your expertise in Solid Modeling and a strong understanding of drawing documentation, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), to contribute to the team’s success. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential as you work with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality designs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reference design requirements, sketches, and specifications from engineers to design and develop detailed 3D models of heat frames and SBC Assemblies using Creo.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company and industry standards, actively participating in the drawing creation and review process.
- Interpret and apply GD&T principles to ensure precision and accuracy in all designs.
- Understand and create Bill of Materials (BOM) for mechanical assemblies to ensure correct part documentation and efficient production processes.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design issues and maintain project timelines.
- Provide technical support and guidance related to mechanical design to other team members.
- Stay current with best practices in design and modeling tools, especially within defense and aerospace applications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Design Technology, Computer Aided Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent years of related experience can be considered in lieu of Associate’s degree.
- Minimum of three (3 ) years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within the defense or aerospace industries.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and design.
- Strong experience in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Thorough understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time.
- Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME Y14.5.
- Experience with circuit board layouts or systems.
- Familiarity with defense or aerospace manufacturing standards and procedures.
- Experience with drawing review and approval workflows.
- Proficiency in Creo Parametric for 3D modeling and design.
