What are the responsibilities and job description for the Odoo Software Developer position at Extreme Engineering Solutions?
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our ERP development team. Working within a small team (three to six developers), you will create and support systems that have a direct impact on the company’s engineering, manufacturing, and financial success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfill the needs of your manufacturing, engineering, and finance stakeholders by refining their requirements into user stories and implementing them as high quality, maintainable code
- Become knowledgeable in the business domains relevant to the software you build and operate
- Be a committed member of your self-organizing team by actively participating in team meetings and sharing responsibilities such as code reviews and fixing bugs
- Help your team to continuously improve by contributing to tooling, documentation, and development practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience writing production code in a professional setting
- Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate)
- Proficiency with Python 3
- Previous experience with Object–Relational Mapping (ORMs)
- Familiar with modern development tools such as Git and GitLab/GitHub
- A basic knowledge of automated testing tools and techniques (e.g., unit testing with unittest/pytest)
- Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
- Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous development experience with Odoo or other ERP systems
- Prior experience deploying and supporting software in a production environment
- Some experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or other formal agile/project management methods
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
