What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at Extremity Care?
Purpose:
The Quality Control Technician performs product scrapping (discard) activities and product sample conversion activities. This position assists with performance of product rework activities and assists with quality inspections of incoming materials to defined inspection procedures and requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Comply with the Sientra quality system requirements as well as any applicable regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, policies and work practices
- Inspect incoming materials and finished devices to defined inspection procedures and requirements
- Assist with first article inspections
- Document inspection results and notify manager when nonconformances are identified
- Provide feedback to facilitate improvements to incoming inspection and nonconforming material handling processes.
- Practice proper material handling, identification, segregation, and storage methods
- Conduct quality control review of completed lot history records to verify operator training compliance, material revision and status (no outstanding non-conforming material reports or deviations) and ensure compliance with good documentation practices
- Interface with Distribution, Operations, and other Quality personnel to ensure good communication and coordination of activities
- Report problems, concerns, and suggestions for improvement to supervisor or responsible team member
- Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and applicable regulations
- Maintain hazardous waste according to EH&S procedures
- Report to work in-person and start job duties on time for established shift
- Complete required hours on assigned works shift to complete assigned responsibilities and duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, and operating procedures
- Proficiency with inspection/measurement equipment, statistical sampling plans, and basic databases
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Education & Experience:
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university required
- At least 2 years related experience in the medical device industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Clearance of favorable background investigation required
