Job Description
The Quality Manager will understand the needs of the customer and the application of the product to manage the quality department, including maintenance of the quality and document control systems (ISO 9001:2015). Manager will interview, train, develop, evaluate, promote, and discipline subordinate personnel. Drive continuous improvement activities and teams. Support and promote plant wide quality improvement efforts. Lead Corrective Action Plan development. Direct efforts related to internal and external quality concerns, including in the pre-launch phase and coordinate preventative measures, root cause analysis implementation, and verification of corrective actions.
Responsibilities:
· Evaluate and develop improved techniques for control of quality and reliability.
· Support new launch and data collection, validation, APQP, and PPAP process.
· Cultivate and expand positive employee morale.
· Develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
· Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel.
· Design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain and analyze data.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred.
· Current or prior aluminum extrusion experience
· Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility that offered the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background in quality.
· Strong knowledge of relevant quality systems and special processes – i.e., ISO 9001:2015, CQI-9 IATF (Preferred)
· Proficient formal problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-why, fishbone, etc.)
· Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
· Production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture, fabrication, and distribution of products.
· Develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term goals.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
· Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office, and the use of statistical software.
· Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
· Must be a highly motivated, service-oriented and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
· Strong analytical ability.
· Troubleshooting ability required.
· Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated good internal customer service skills.
· Strong presentation skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects.
· Proficient computer skills.
