Job Title: HR Generalist Consultant (1099 Contractor)

About the Role:
Exude Human Capital is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to work as a 1099 contractor for our client, a rapidly growing company in North New Jersey. This organization is scaling quickly and requires a hands-on HR professional to build and strengthen its HR infrastructure and people operations. The HR Consultant will be onsite three days per week for the first 6 months to build the HR foundation, ensure full compliance with New Jersey employment laws, and work closely with the firm’s Principals to develop a long-term HR strategy. This consultant will also serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters, fostering strong employee relationships and implementing HR systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Establish and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with business needs.
· Ensure compliance with New Jersey employment laws and regulations.
· Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR strategy, talent management, and organizational planning.
· Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, benefits, and workplace concerns.
· Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
· Design and implement performance management frameworks.
· Guide leadership in developing a long-term HR strategic plan to support company growth.
· Support company culture initiatives, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
Qualifications:
· 5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a startup or growing company.
· Strong knowledge of New Jersey labor laws and compliance requirements.
· Experience setting up HR processes and systems from the ground up.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal structure.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
· Hands-on experience with HRIS, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and benefits administration.
· Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.
