Basic Function
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed customer expectations. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to coordinate resources, manage risks, and drive project success.
- Build and develop high-performing project teams by providing clear direction, motivation, and purpose.
- Lead projects through all phases of construction, while ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for project status and changes.
- Foster collaboration among internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.
Skills
- Demonstrate knowledge in construction principles and methods, environmental regulations, workplace safety and OSHA requirements, and employee supervision.
- Ability to be flexible and work well in a fast-paced environment while handling simultaneously occurring tasks and small projects.
- Proven experience creatively managing projects and people on time and on budget.
- Excellent communication skills, solid decision-making capabilities, and a customer service attitude.
- Ability to develop and maintain a CPM schedule.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Ability to perform and be proficient in geometric and mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge and ability to perform layout and surveying.
- Experienced with Value Engineering principles and practices.
- Financial Management.
- Basic computer systems and software. Procore knowledge a plus.
- Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software, PDF Editing, Excel and Word. Scheduling software experience is a plus.
Education
BA Degree or higher in Engineering or Construction Management. Construction experience and surveying ability is highly valued.Up-to-date CPR/AED certificate and 30-hour OSHA training. PMP preferred.
Experience
Demonstrates 7 years related construction management experience in the design-build space. Warehouse and industrial space preferred. Experienced at dealing with contracts, subcontractors, and clients at a high level.
