Job Role Summary
ExxonMobil is currently seeking Process Technicians for the Baton Rouge Refinery located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Process Technicians will operate and monitor process equipment in a safe, reliable and environmentally sound manner.
- 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Safely perform duties with strict adherence to procedures, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and company policy. Ownership of personal safety and safety of co-workers.- Work a rotating shift schedule in a team environment
- Obtain unit qualification within specified time and maintain all post training requirements. Maintain a timely progression throughout the Apprenticeship program.
- Conduct operator surveillance rounds, record data and catch unit product samples for field or laboratory analysis.
- Operate and maintain unit equipment, open / close valves of various sizes, and prepare process equipment for maintenance. Process equipment includes but is not limited to the following: pumps, compressors, furnaces, towers, reactors, exchangers, filters and associated piping.
- Perform primary emergency response duties assigned per post requirements.

Troubleshoot and correct process related issues (i.e.: temperature, pressure, flow).
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the ExxonMobil Pre-employment Test
- Currently possess or be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Currently possess or be able to qualify for a valid driver’s license.
- Able and willing to work nights, holidays and overtime
- Able and willing to work in inclement weather, climb structures and perform work at heights.
- Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, and drug screening
- Maintain required certifications and training that are area or assignment specific.

Complete Basic Operator Training (9 weeks) and meet all Apprenticeship Program Requirements (4 years)
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated relevant work experience is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing team member
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision
- Desire and ability to be a leader in personal safety and teamwork dynamics
- Continued education preferred
Pre-Employment Testing Requirement
This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing. After applying you will receive a pop up giving you access to the assessment. You may take the assessment at that time or utilize the instructions below to access the assessment at a time convenient for you. Note that the assessment must be completed by the deadline in order for you to be considered for the O&M position for which you have applied.
IMPORTANT
- The O&M test has been revised. Effective December 1, 2021 ALL candidates must complete the revised assessment. Even if you have tested within the last 365 days (passed or failed), you must complete the revised assessment to be considered for this O&M opportunity. Failure to complete the assessment by the deadline will result in your disqualification from consideration for this position.
- Test passed candidates will be screened by the hiring team and a subset invited for interview. Note that a satisfactory result on the assessment does not guarantee an interview.
