As part of our Americas Tax Technology Group (ATTG) you will be part of a technology organization that develops and maintains innovative solutions for our Clients and EY Tax professionals. ATTG professionals will partner with our Tax professionals to develop supporting technology such as digital/mobile tools to improve internal operations, application of Robotics Process Automation (RPA) to collect financial data, development of advanced financial dashboards, visualization, analytics, and reports.
The Solution Delivery Lead role is in the Solution Delivery pillar. The main function of this pillar is to develop, and test solutions created to support the Americas Tax Practice.
Essential Functions of the Job:
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $69,400 to $201,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $83,200 to $228,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.

Essential Functions of the Job:
- Oversee the team to ensure application of the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems to meet business objectives for a broad portfolio of products and product lines
- Contribute to strategic, financial and operational direction of the Application Engineering function
- Work closely with the BTL and Product Management to define and execute the product and portfolio roadmap through the appropriate stages of the product lifecycle.
- Responsible for the execution of the technology strategy within the portfolio for AI, Cloud Architecture etc.
- Assess current department capability and maturity and develop a roadmap with a focus on continuous improvement including establishing metrics and KPIs with which to measure team performance.
- Embrace and embed cutting edge development accelerators such as AI development tools and platforms
- Develop and adopt formal development methods and tools to govern and control programs, defining and leveraging firm standards
- Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify leading practices
- Forecasting need for resources (people, hosting, licensing) to deliver on the product roadmap for the portfolio
- Owns and Optimizes team composition across the product teams in the portfolio to ensure alignment to business strategy & roadmap
- Build relationships at all levels
- Identify, manage and resolve complex issues, preventing escalations, where possible
- Think strategically and identify opportunities for optimization (Reuse, process)
- Manage vendor relationships which could include hardware, software and 3rd party service providers
- Ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options, and where appropriate, leading to resolution
- Ability to prioritize personal and team workloads to best meet organizational objectives
- Empowered to make decisions and recommend approach based on the results from quality reviews.
- Expert knowledge in the application of software development methodologies used (Agile and Prescriptive)
- Advanced Knowledge of technology strategy & roadmap definition
- Advanced knowledge in resource planning, project management, business analysis and software testing disciplines
- Knowledge of business domain, i.e. Tax or similar business functions
- Ability to convert business and technical requirements into appropriate solutions
- Mastery level in following IT technical skills – Solutions Architecture (ARC), Methods and tools (METL), Data Analysis (DTAN), Systems Design (DESN), Database/repository design (DBDS), Programming/software development (PROG), Usability Requirements Analysis (UNAN), Consultancy (CNSL), Systems Development Management (DLMG),
- Experience of working with .NET, SQL, Java, responsive web design
- AI development experience would be considered a plus both in solution applicability and technical enablement
- Knowledge of supporting peer teams such as infrastructure, operations, enterprise architecture, info-security
- Provide supervision and direction to team members and staff
- Delegate, coach, coordinate and lead co-workers and project team members.
- Leads a functional team with responsibility for utilization, assignments, and reports to a pillar leader
- Responsible for training and standards for functional team performance
- Has direct responsibility for supervising personnel, (i.e., sets goals, assigns work, reviews performance, and conducts career development discussions)
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- A bachelor's degree (computer science, engineering, accounting, finance preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Master's degree preferred
- 10-15 years of relevant experience
- Experience leading management level members is required
- Experience leading teams of 30 people in developing Management experience a plus
