JOB TITLE : Surgical Coordinator
OFFICE : Eyecare Associates of East Texas
LOCATION : Tyler, TX
POSITION SUMMARY
Deliver excellent patient-centered care by ensuring the financial and surgical communication process is complete for patients having surgical procedures.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
This position will require flexibility and a broad knowledge base, with ability to perform any of the below tasks.
Counsels with the patients and assists with insurance and any funding necessary
Check every patient chart for insurance benefits, prepare a cost summary and counsel patient regarding finances or call patient regarding mailed cost summary.
Counsel patient for Physician Fees and Eye Surgery Center.
Re-verify active status of every patient's insurance at beginning of each month.
Enter notes in patient account and spreadsheet for Surgery : Insurance, Collections and Reverification.
Print doctors' surgery schedule one week prior and go through each patient to confirm all is up to date.
Confirm all surgeries have been pre-certified and a cost summary done.
Follow up / collect for surgery payments for ECA and ESC.
- Informs the patient of how the process will work.
All other duties assigned.
