SECTION 1 : Job Summary
The duty and responsibility of the Patient Coordinator Lead at Kalamazoo, is to oversee the transition of the clinic from Vitreo-Retinal Associates to Grand Rapids Ophthalmology. This will include the following duties :
Receiving and sorting incoming mail
Answering incoming phone calls
Processing medical records requests for VRA patients
Ensuring the clinic is ready for GRO patients to be seen
Running reports from PM / EMR system
Sending recalls and scheduling patients as needed
SECTION 2 Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory and ordering of office and clinic supplies
Training for GRO PM / EMR system
Learning GRO processes prior to the schedule beginning
If the candidate has a clinical background, performing phone triage
Travel to GRO clinics to train and fill in as needed
SECTION 3 : Patient Population Served (For nursing / patient care positions)
Team members will work with patients of all ages, races, and genders

Education requirements :
High School or GED
SECTION 5 : Experience Requirements
High school graduate with coursework in computers. Experience with Eyecare Partners in a Patient Coordinator or Technician role preferred. Bachelors degree preferred.

Location : Work takes place in a normal office / clinical environment. Travel to other locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job. Exposure : Works in normal office environment during normal business hours. May be exposed to blood or bodily fluids. May also be exposed to various cleaning supplies.
Equipment : The equipment typically used in this position is a computer, fax, copier, printer, scanner and telephone. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Regularly uses Ophthalmic equipment / devices per sub-specialty requirement such as keratometer; phoropter; visual acuity measuring / B-VAT; ultrasound unit; specular microscopy unit; corneal topography unit; retinoscope; slit lamp microscope, telephone, computer, fax, printer and copier. Other equipment may be used as needed. Must be able to work with precise tools and equipment; must have dexterity to use these items correctly and safely. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
