Job Summary: Manages the ECVA Billing Department, is responsible for all daily coding and billing activities and assures practice is in compliance with current standards. Directly supervises a professional team of medical Billers and Coders.

ECVA’s Medical Reimbursement Department is looking for an experienced full time Billing Operations Manager. Energetic, caring, and reliable are the qualities we are looking for in our Team Members.

Your job as a Billing Operations Manager is a very important one. You are responsible for the timely preparation and filing of insurance claims (paper and electronic claims transmission), insurance aging reports, and prior approvals. Additional responsibilities include the timely review and follow up on all claims and collection of insurance claims and patient accounts. In addition, you will play an active role in the coding process for medical claim s and provider credentialing.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree or higher desired
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • at least 5 years of previous medical office billing experience.
  • Medical Coding Experience Desired
  • Ophthalmology Experience.
  • Certification in Ophthalmology Coding preferred
  • Nextech EHR Experience
  • Strong computer background.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Audits - Prepare responses to all insurance company requests and audits, including provider incentive programs. Conducts Periodic internal chart audits.

B. Personnel Management

· Perform annual performance evaluations on all departmental staff and meet with Administrator to discuss employee performance, recommend raises, promotions and disciplinary actions.

· Hold staff accountable for accuracy and appropriateness.

· Train new departmental staff members.

C. Credentialing

· Oversee all credentialing for new doctors and/or any renewals with regards to both insurance and hospital requirements.

· Create and update all physicians on Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) and Provider Enrollment Chain & Ownership System (PECOS) website.

D. Communication

  • Attend manager’s meetings, to present and resolve policy issues, as they arise.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings to keep staff apprised of updates and discuss and resolve any new issues pertaining to billing department.
  • Communication with MLMIC regarding events, suspense files or any legal concerns.
  • Serve as a patient/practice liaison; mediating and responding to patient complaints and concerns.

E*. Payer and Medical Organization Relations*

  • Maintains appropriate relationships with all insurance provider representatives.
  • Maintains communications with all necessary MLMIC representatives and Medical organizations regarding patient care and physician/patient relations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Associate (Required)

Experience:

  • Medical office experience: 2 years (Required)
  • ICD-10 &/or CPT Coding: 1 year (Required)
  • Medical Billing: 5 years (Required)

Work Location: In person

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
