Position Summary: This is a full-time position responsible to provide transportation services to Surgicare patients. Maintain all vehicles clean and in good operating order, inform supervisor about any needed repairs. While not driving, is willing to assist in maintenance projects and duties, like maintaining lighting, light plumbing, painting, etc. Will make sure surgeries trash cart is emptied and move empty boxes to recycle bin. Willingness to learn various aspects of maintenance duties related to our Ophthalmic practice. Directly reports to Maintenance Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Conforms to and abides by all applicable regulatory, federal and local laws governing the Ambulatory Surgery Center (Surgicare)
- Complies with all company ASC policies and procedures
- Coordinate routes, call and confirm appointments with patients and provide transportation to patients (to and from Surgicare), which periodically involves flexible work hours.
- Ensure all vehicles are clean and well maintained, coordinate vehicle maintenance, and assure appropriate gas levels are maintained in all fleet vehicles.
- Effectively and professionally communicates and interacts with patients, their family and other external and internal clients, including fellow employees from diverse backgrounds.
- Assists with maintenance tasks, such as helping to move equipment or office furniture, light maintenance, small plumbing adjustments, etc.
- If a vehicle breaks down with a patient present, call supervisor to set up an immediate pick up of patient; the vehicle will be dealt with after patient care needs are met.
- Make sure all cardboard boxes are properly disposed to the recycle bins and assist Surgicare with surgical trash disposal.

- Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with patients and internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate effective oral communications skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department. Good organizational skills along with excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and carry some weight while performing maintenance duties.
- Speak Spanish or Creole is a plus but not required.
- Must possess a valid and current Florida Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must agree to background check and TB test
- Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to ensure a smooth flow of patients in daily operations.
- Maintenance experience is a plus but will train.
Education:
