What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Assistant position at Eye & LASIK Center?
Longwood Eye & LASIK is now hiring for the position of ophthalmic assistant / technician.
Ophthalmic assistants / technicians perform a variety of tasks including obtaining patient histories and working with the electronic medical record, checking vision, intraocular pressure, administering eyedrops and performing refractions. They act as a scribe while physician examines patient; entering data into electronic medical records.
Additionally they perform diagnostic testing including but not limited to Humphrey VF, OCT, Fundus Photography, Specular Microscopy, IOL Master, Topography, A-Scan.
This is a great opportunity for a phlebotomist, medical assistant, CNA, pharmacy technician or person with similar background. Experience in optometry or ophthalmology preferred, but training is available for the right candidate. The ideal candidate is someone with a great positive attitude and willingness to learn.
The daily work schedule varies based on which physician is in the office but the earliest start time would be 7:45am and latest end time is usually no later than 5:15pm. No nights or weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
