What are the responsibilities and job description for the Centralized Scheduler position at Eye Medical Center of Fresno, Inc.?
Based on communication with patient or referring physician, the goal is to accurately schedule the patient with the physician best able to provide quality service to the treat the patient’s needs.
Primary Duties:
1. Receive phone calls from patients wishing to schedule appointment within the Eye Medical
Center.
2. Accurately assess or triage the patient to aid in prioritization of appointment or transfer of call to the correct staff to authorize emergent add-ons.
3. Accurately collect necessary information to schedule appointment and obtain eligibility or treatment authorization.
4. Make phone calls to address referrals.
5. Accurately transfer incoming calls as needed.
6. Able to communicate verbally and in writing with outside public, other staff and physicians.
7. Other job duties as assigned.
Specific Scheduler criteria:
1. Able to utilize our phone system and communicate in quality English (and Spanish) language.
2. Able to utilize our computer system to enable scheduling of the patient.
3. Able to understand medical terminology related to job duties.
4. Quality understanding of services offered by Eye Medical Center to enable scheduling a patient.
5. Basic understanding of health insurance that enable scheduling the patient for medical service.

Pay: $34,320.00 - $47,840.00 per year
