What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk Receptionist position at Eye Medical Center of Fresno, Inc.?
Position: Front Office Receptionist/In Suite
Primary Duties:
1. Greet patients as they enter our office or suite.
2. Confirm patient’s appointment with our physician, patient’s current contact information, insurance details, etc.
3. Assess any outstanding patient liability insure payment has been received.
4. Operate office equipment, multi-line phone, fax, copier, scanner, computer, etc.
5. Enter data and type at 40 wpm.
6. When needed make new charts for patients seen when physician is on call.
7. Verify insurance eligibility- Efficiently using different avenues to determine insurance eligibility for any services provided.
8. Professionally interact with various insurance companies to obtain authorizations, for a variety treatments/services associated with patient care – by telephone and online.
9. Pay careful attention to detail, follow up on tasks with minimal supervision, and adhere to specific timelines, to ensure patients are eligible and authorized to receive care during their scheduled appointments.
10. Able to utilize our computer system to process appointment scheduling, check in, check out, insurance eligibility and authorizations.
11. Quality understanding of services offered by Eye Medical Center to enable accurate authorization for treatments/services.
12. Understanding of health insurances to include knowledge of which insurances need would need prior authorization.
13. Ability to listen and understand on the phone, what others say and schedule patients to the correct physician.
14. Other job duties as assigned.

Pay: $32,240.00 - $45,760.00 per year
