What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician position at Eye Partners?
We are interested in hiring someone to perform standard ophthalmic technician functions to aide the physician with proper diagnosis and management of patients with ophthalmic conditions.
Applicants should be able to function as a team player in professional, ethical, and friendly private Ophthalmic practice to care for patients with ocular conditions. Demonstrate ophthalmic technician skills. Be involved in both patient care and other office duties when needed to boost practice efficiency. Display professionalism and build patient confidence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One year experience as an ophthalmic technician
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Acquaint new patients with the office and potential testing/treatments/procedures
* Obtain patient history to include chief compliant, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications.
* Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.
* Perform fundus photography
* Perform OCT’s / FA’s
* Assessment of vision, pupils, confrontation fields, and anterior chamber depth
* Tonopen, applanation
* Assisting in minor surgeries
* Cleaning, stocking, opening / closing of exam and work up rooms
* Maintaining clean work area and patient lobby
* Helping and answering questions of other staff members
* Helping in front office when needed
* Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician, escort patients to and from exam rooms.
* Communicate with co-workers to facilitate proper patient flow.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
