EYE-Q Vision Care is seeking applicants for the position of Materials Specialist to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Department. The Materials Specialist is responsible for purchases made by the surgery center from our vendors and guarantees that materials, supplies, and equipment orders are placed in a timely fashion.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment in the ASC.
- Monitors supply and handling of IOL’s and ensures adequate stock.
- Sets delivery assignments to ensure that proper quantity of materials is delivered at the proper time.
- Receives and properly disburses all materials to the various locations in the facility.
- Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper rotation.
- Properly handles and stores sterile supplies, maintaining sterility.
- Utilizes perpetual inventory management software to maintain purchasing guidelines.
- Maximizes inventory management and ensures compliance with vendors, distributors, and contractual requirements.
- Prepares purchase orders, solicits bid proposals, and reviews requisitions for goods and services.
- Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
- Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
- Monitors and follows applicable laws and regulations.
- Negotiates, renegotiates, and prepares contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives for ASC Manager approval.
- Organizes contracts, price audits, and acts as a liaison between distribution companies and EYEQ Surgery Center.
- Brings needs/problems regarding supplies and/or equipment to the attention of ASC Coordinator and ASC Manager.
- Performs administrative duties pertinent to position.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, internet, email, and NextGen.
- Ability to be a team player.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Six months to oneyear related experience and/or technical school training.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a vision care. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate.

PAY RANGE: $25.95 - $44.82 depending on skills, experience, and education.
