EYE-Q Vision Care is seeking applicants for the position of Ophthalmic Technician to join our team of healthcare professionals in our Clovis, Fresno, and Selma locations. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast paced and busy environment. We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician specifically for our Pediatrics Department. The primary job is to perform medical assisting and data collection as delegated by the doctor to allow for proper professional diagnosis of the patients' conditions.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acquaints all patients with the office procedures to which they will be exposed.
- Informs patients of the purpose of all tests performed, and how they will be affected.
- Scribes for the doctors as part of their daily assignments.
- Performs visual acuity, manual lensometry, confrontational visual fields, stereo testing, evaluation of motility, pupillary function tests, color plates, applanation tonometry, fundus photography, other tasks specific to physician needs.
- Performs administrative duties which include keeping exposed lenses, mirrors and prisms clean, maintaining sanitary conditions in diagnostic and procedure rooms as well as keeping them stocked, and maintaining par levels of replacement inventory.
- Performs additional duties based on level of Ophthalmic Technician.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records, NextGen (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be personable, empathetic, wellorganized, and detailoriented.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Medical assistant training/certification (preferred).
- 1year related eye care experience (preferred).
- Completion of Ophthalmic Assistant Home Study test or possess current JCAHPO certification (preferred).
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in an ophthalmology setting. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. This is a full time position with a benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate.

POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care practice sites are located in Clovis, Fresno, and Selma.
PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
