Surgical Coordinator

Surgical Coordinator. Eye Site Sacramento is looking for a fulltime surgical coordinator/ophthalmic technician.

Responsibilities:

• Develops a bond with patients ensuring they feel welcomed, understood and appreciated not only during consultation but day of surgery as well
• Provides a great patient experience
• Delivers high customer satisfaction (always friendly and helpful);
• Educates and assists patients in selecting services
• Creates, reviews, and completes surgical chart
• Arranges for pre-op testing
• Send surgery request with CPT & ICD 10 codes to insurance company, as well as, call to confirm patient’s benefits and eligibility. As well as authorizations.
• Puts together pre-op paper work with instructions and explains instructions to patient
• Tending constantly to the phone and resolving patient requests or issues
• Schedules patients for surgery in person or over the phone
• Communicates constantly with assigned surgeon, patient and facility personnel for scheduling purposes
• Coordinating pre-op and post-op appointments
• Communicating with hospitals to perform all necessary pre-operative requirements.

• Experience with EPIC a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills with patients over the phone and in person.
• Enthusiastic team player.
• Must be extremely organized.
• Experience in the medical field is a strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between locations, Folsom and Sacramento.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
