Summary:
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the medical office by helping patients through front desk duties. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Essential Skills, Abilities, and Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival at the medical office
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, both in-person and over the phone
- Make daily confirmation and recall phone calls to patients to confirm and reschedule appointments
- Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details and will also collect payments for services
- Assist with medical administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and record keeping
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary
- Answer patient inquiries and provide information about services offered
- Ensure a clean and organized reception area
- Must have a friendly, kind, and patient demeanor and personality
- Must be detailed oriented
- Must be able to problem solve
- Must have computer proficient skills
- Must be able to work closely with other departments to ensure a positive patient experience
- Must be willing to ask for patient feedback or online reviews
- Maintain accurate records by following proper documentation requirements
- Maintain practice confidentiality, follow legal, HIPAA & OSHA guidelines, follow the rules and regulations of the practice as documented in the practice employee manual
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using office software and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Authorize various transactions, such as refunds, voids, and cash drawer reconciliations
- Conduct cash and credit card transactions with patients and provide correct change and receipts as needed
- Count the cash and submit the cash, bank deposit, & supporting documentation to the leader at the end of their shift
- Enter transactions into computer system, cash register or cash/credit receipt journal/log

- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to various satellite locations as needed for work assignments

Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week
- Monday to Friday
- One early morning or late night per week may be required
- Possible one Saturday a month, based on location (advance notice will be provided)
- Must be able to attend one monthly meeting before or after normal business hours (advance notice will be provided)
- Must be able to attend one monthly training event before or after normal business hours or on a Saturday (advance notice will be provided)
