As a Charge Nurse, I oversee daily operations and ensure high-quality patient care in an ambulatory surgery setting. My responsibilities include coordinating staff schedules, supervising nursing operations, and managing a team of healthcare professionals.

I hold a valid Kentucky RN license and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations for patient care.

Hours:

• Full Time
• We are open Monday-Friday 6:00am-4:00pm. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed.
• No late nights, weekends, or on-call shifts

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of Charge Nurse/management experience required, preferably in an Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), and/or hospital
• Experience managing a team of at least 20 direct reports is preferred
• Must have previous Nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: Operating Room (OR), Pre-Op/Post-Op, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Valid Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Favorable result on Background Check required

• Critical Thinking - Ability to supervise and direct patient care in an individual operating room. Ensures that proper techniques and practices are used in accordance with accepted standards of practice.

• Job Knowledge/Responsibilities - Performs duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their license as defined by the State.
• Attendance - Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences.
• License - Maintains and renews professional license in a timely manner.

Language Skills/Computer Skills:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of NextGen Database software and Microsoft Word.
• Printer, copier, telephone, and fax.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment.

Physical Demands:

• The employee must be able to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally be able to push up to an excess of 200 pounds.
• Occasionally be able to pull/lift patients with the assistance of other personnel and/or assistive devices, up to an excess of 400-500 pounds.

Accident or Health Hazards:

• Regular exposure to blood and body substances.
• Exposure to needle sticks possible.
• Blood-borne pathogen risk classification category #1.

Working Conditions:

• Works in well-lit and ventilated surroundings including operating rooms, nurse's stations, procedure rooms, lounge, etc.
