Responsibilities: - Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner - Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual - Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar - Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments - Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information - Assist with medical billing and coding tasks - Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area Skills: - Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role - Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks) - Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and phone systems - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA regulations - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
