We are looking for a hardworking, patient-focused team player to join us as an Optometric Assistant (Technician). This role primarily involves pre-testing patients before they see the doctor, but you’ll also be cross-trained in other areas of the practice, allowing you to develop a versatile skill set in eye care.

Your Role as an Optometric Assistant:Primary Responsibilities (Optometric Technician Duties):

  • Perform pre-testing procedures (visual acuity, auto-refractor, intraocular pressure, etc.).
  • Assist with diagnostic testing (retinal imaging, OCT, visual fields, and more).
  • Help with contact lens fittings and educate patients on proper lens care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in our system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.

Additional Cross-Training Opportunities (Optician Duties):

  • Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings based on their needs.
  • Take precise optical measurements and ensure proper eyewear adjustments.
  • Educate patients on lens technology and eyewear options.
  • Coordinate with optical labs to process and track eyewear orders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an optometry or healthcare setting is a plus, but not required – we are happy to train the right person!
