  • No Lead teacher experience necessary, but we do require teaching experience. We are willing to train if you think you have what it takes to be a Lead Teacher.
  • The Lead teacher will maintain their own classroom.

Requirements :

  • High school graduate.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Provide proof of pre-employment physical, including vision test.
  • Provide proof of valid negative TB test.
  • Provide LIVESCAN fingerprints or the name of the previous school in Alameda County where the fingerprints were processed through the Community Care Licensing Department.
  • Provide a current First Aid and CPR certificate for preschool and infant / toddler children.
  • Previous teaching experience required.
  • Completion of 12 semester or 18 quarter units in early Childhood Development, and an additional 3 semester or 4.5 quarter units in Infant / Toddler Care.
  • Character references and references supporting abilities required.
  • Willing to work an eight-hour day plus overtime, if needed.
  • Proof of sexual harassment training and mandated reporter training and any other training required by Community Care Licensing.
  • Ensure that the planned curriculum is being implemented.
  • Maintain daily attendance records, parent sign-in and sign-out sheets, daily attendance count sheets, etc.
  • Maintain your own classroom either preschool or infant toddler.
  • Willing to either open or close the school on a regular basis.
  • Must love children and be able to relate to them.
  • High energy level a must.
  • Understand and practice confidentiality.
  • Implement a program that ensures the health, safety and welfare of all children always.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and students.
  • Implement and follow Community Care Licensing and our schools procedures.
  • Assist with tours when needed.
  • Must be willing to work late or weekends if needed.
  • Assist Director with special projects.
  • Stand in for the director in her absence.
  • Follow up on concerns and complaints from both parents and staff.
  • Report to the director on matters requiring her attention or assistance.
  • Ensure staff are maintaining the cleanliness and organization in their individual classrooms.
  • Maintain great relationships with parents.
  • Turn in reports in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate with the director all supervised staff.
  • Responsible for training new staff.
  • Ensure proper ratios are followed.
  • Communicate with the director.
  • Verify Curriculum is followed by teachers and staff.
  • Must have excellent self-starting and initiative skills.
  • Must be able to maintain harmony with staff and parents.
  • Must be able to fulfill the job responsibilities listed below, maintaining a high standard in overall performance.
  • a) Ability to comply with attendance standards which require that the Lead teacher be regularly present in the work place each day for the numbers of hours required and must be timely in starting work.

    b) Have the ability to lead and supervise others.

    c) Ability to follow oral and written directions from the Director.

    d) Ability to interact well with co-workers, management, parents, children, and any members of the public.

    e) Ability to read, understand, and follow posted work rules and procedures.

    f) Ability to accept constructive criticism from co-workers, as well as management.

    In addition to the above

    Administer and document all childrens medications.

    Supervise staff at all times, maintaining a high standard of operation.

    Maintain open channels of communication with the Director at all times.

    Ensure positive methods of discipline are being implemented at all times.

    Maintain a positive parent rapport at all times.

    Implement a program that ensures the health, safety, and welfare of the children at all times.

    Attend and facilitate staff meetings and conduct department meetings on a regular basis.

    Attend monthly management meetings.

    Follow- up on staff concerns and complaints.

    Provide support and feedback to staff to ensure complete and through communication.

    Report to the Director on matters requiring his or her attention or assistance.

    Follow up on staffs Behavioral and Developmental Reports regularly.

    Maintain all Alternative Payment time sheets, ensuring that they are complete at the end of every month.

    Arrange for parents of children who are ill to be called after obtaining the consent of the Director.

    Evaluate, with the Director, all staff supervised.

    Complete and submit administrative documents punctually.

    Oversee the training of our new staff.

    Ensure the Director is always informed of the current teacher / child ratios in the department.

    Submit requests for equipment and supplies.

    Manage the scheduling of all breaks in the event of sudden staff changes due to absence / s.
