What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Material Handler 9am - 530pm position at EZ-ACCESS, a dba of Homecare Products, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
The Material Handler – Shipping is responsible for moving raw materials, sub-components, finished goods, and supplies through the facility. The Material Handler – Shipping is also responsible for staging orders and loading trucks. This position is key to ensuring inventory and order accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Move materials through the facility with the use of material handling equipment; i.e. forklift, pallet jack, etc.
· Move finished goods from staging area to finished goods rack.
· Assemble daily shipping orders which include Modular, Commercial, and Portable products.
· Process and stage products from distribution list for transfer truck.
· Load distribution trucks per distribution list.
· Verify quality and accuracy of orders (Items and counts).
· Load orders in proper freight trucks.
· Mark materials with updated identifying information using identifying tags or labels.
· Fill requests for material and distribute them accordingly.
· Ensure all finished products are placed back in their proper location after orders have been pulled.
· Organize and restock shelves to ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and visitor traffic.
· Assist in maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness.
· Stack skids or pallets in designated areas. Clean up and dispose cardboard and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas.
· Transfer to other departments on a temporary basis as needed.
· Assist in other areas of Shipping or Receiving when needed.
· Assist with basic material audits, cycle counts, etc.
· Ability to work overtime as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic warehouse, stock or related experience. Company forklift certification and six month’s experience in a similar role.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, write and speak fluent English. Able to communicate professionally and clearly with others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to determine accuracy of outgoing orders and issues that appear incorrect from normal process and procedure.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to use Microsoft Office software programs. Experience with Advanced Distribution a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis as well as standing and reaching for long periods of time. Constant use of hands to perform functions is required. Ability to obtain forklift certification and operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Able to work in warehouse environment with changes in temperature due to location of work to be performed. Fast pace, multitasking environment.
