Job Description
Position Title: Maintenance Teammate
Reports to: Maintenance Team Captain
Job Purpose:To support the Maintenance Team Captain in delivering high-quality landscaping and property maintenance services while adhering to safety protocols and ensuring client satisfaction.
Responsibilities and DutiesSafety
- Ensure all equipment is secured and properly tied down during transportation.
- Confirm all team members wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Place safety cones beside vehicles and trailers at job sites.
- Follow all equipment safety protocols, including stopping equipment before adjustments.
- Abide by Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while driving and operating vehicles.
Property Maintenance
- Perform property maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and blowing to meet company quality standards.
- Operate a variety of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to mowers, spin trimmers, edgers, and blowers.
- Assist in maintaining both private and commercial properties in a clean, professional condition.
Client Interaction
- Respond to client questions and accommodate reasonable requests.
- Assist in creating a positive experience for clients by communicating professionally and addressing concerns promptly.
Team Support
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute jobs efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including equipment, worksite, and vehicles.
- Provide feedback to the Maintenance Team Captain regarding job progress, personnel, or client concerns.
- Help complete paperwork, including timesheets, work orders, change orders, and client job sheets.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Report necessary repairs or malfunctions to the Maintenance Team Captain.
- Assist with snow removal and other seasonal tasks as needed.
Chemical Applications
- Apply chemicals under the supervision of a licensed applicator and in accordance with company and safety guidelines.
QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
- One year of experience in lawn maintenance or a related field preferred but not required.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of horticultural practices, including mowing, edging, and trimming.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
Certifications
- Valid driver’s license preferred (must obtain if required for the role).
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance as necessary.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and moving mechanical equipment.
- Regular interaction with team members, supervisors, and clients.
Work Hours
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Additional or makeup work on Saturdays as scheduled.
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
