Summary: The Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting team with the preparation of financial statements and all accounting and credit operations of the company. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity and accuracy through daily management of General Accounting, Payroll and Cash Management. It prepares and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizes knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, principles, and terminology of accountancy and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general management.
- Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships.
- Evaluates alternative means of treating transactions.
- Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition.
- Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements.
- Advises operating officials on accounting matters.
- Assists with the preparation and review of monthly statements including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
- Reconciles accounts such as bank and bank card statements.
- Transacts fixed assets and coordinates with subsidiaries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintains an effective ERP system, closing monthly jobs and conducting inventory reconciliations and reports.
- Conducts ACH, and wires, and other treasury functions.
- Prepares payroll reports.
- Assists with monthly and year end close and reporting.
- Supports Controller to maintain SOPPs and financial / operating metrics.
- Reports excise taxes, business licenses, vehicle titles, and supports reporting for other regulatory agencies.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

- ERP experience a plus
- Proficiency with accounting software systems and Excel
- Working knowledge of payroll

This position will be required to be onsite 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.
