Summary
We are seeking a GovEd Business Development Director to lead initiatives that drive business development activities and generate new opportunities for growth. The Director, GovEd Business Development, will explore new business opportunities focusing on state, local, school districts, and county governments.
Responsibilities
- Contact and connect with various U.S. government entities to identify key stakeholders, departments, and contacts to build and maintain relationships with potential leads.
- Create and close new business opportunities for the company within target companies.
- Manage and grow the portfolio of services delivered to the client by developing and executing customer coverage plans.
- Understand the client’s short- and long-term strategy goals. Build a plan to integrate services into the client goals.
- Research, present, and pitch to potential clients. Build business transformation propositions for prospects / industries and present these to prospective customers.
- Work closely with delivery functions in ensuring successful execution of projects.
- Develop relationships with potential clients through presentations, business networking, telephone calls, personal emails, personal mailings, business forums, and / or other business or social networking.
- Generate client awareness and preference for the business and its services. May include developing / sending promotional material, authoring articles, presenting in business forums, business associations, etc.
- Recommend which opportunities the business should pursue using criteria such as highest probability of winning, profit potential, etc.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and capitalize on new markets and business opportunities.
- Lead market research efforts to identify market trends and understand customer needs.
- Collaborate with the sales team, marketing teams, and other key stakeholders to align strategies and achieve company goals.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with potential clients, partners, and distributors to enhance relationship management and secure strategic partnerships.
- Prepare RFPs (requests for proposals), business presentations, and other materials to support business development activities.
- Analyze and manage budgets related to business development initiatives, ensuring cost efficiency and optimal resource allocation.
- Negotiate contracts with partners and potential clients, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
