Base Salary: $45,000 - 55,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, 9 months
Hours of Work: Standard work week. Monday-Friday, (40 hours)
Job Summary
Ezra Academy, an independent Jewish day school, seeks a full-time experienced Hebrew and Jewish studies school teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The position requires fluent knowledge of Modern Hebrew as well as the ability to teach about Jewish holidays.
Ezra Academy is a small, progressive Jewish day school in Woodbridge, CT, just outside of New Haven. Our program begins with a Montessori preschool program at age two and continues through eighth grade. Responsibilities and Skills
- Strong background in Judaics education and Hebrew instruction.
- Proficient in lesson planning and curriculum development.
- Experience with and passion for students in lower elementary grades.
- Excellent behavior management and classroom community building skills.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with parents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Masters degree preferred
- Three years of experience teaching (preferably in an independent school setting)
- Demonstrated proficiency and confidence with oral and written communication
- Interest in and ability to teach multiple grade levels
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
