Job Description: The role of the Robot Programmer encompasses a variety of tasks to be completed in a timely and efficient manner. The Robot Programmer is required to provide:
Responsibilities:
- Support Automation Engineering Team.
- Simulate for quality control/assurance applications using industrial robots with different configurations (i.e. multiple robots, external axes) utilizing proprietary software.
- Generate robot offline programming from simulation.
- Set up and configure LSA and other future solutions
- Step through (jog) robot programs created from simulation.
- Support setting up interference/interlock zones between robots.
- Operate robots to fine-tune robot programs.
- Work closely with other on-site integrators (PLC, HMI, and other automation equipment).
Qualifications:
Experience
- Knowledge and experience in operating industrial robots (e.g. FANUC) preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
- Associate’s Degree with Basic Robot Certification or equivalent work experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in Office Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong communication skills to confidently explain information and converse with customers/clients.
- Organizational skills to effectively process all paperwork/products.
- Bi-lingual (English and at least conversational level Korean) preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Office (Southfield, MI) and Factory Environment.
- Possibility of Travel (e.g. Providing Support to our Automation Engineering Team).
- Noise Level is usually moderate.
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) are provided.
Work Hours:
- Shift Work
- 8-Hour Work Shift (at the Office)
- 10-Hour Work Shift (Dependent on Client Shift at On-Site Facility)
- Hours Depend on Client Shift Schedule (e.g. 1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 2nd Shift - 2:00PM to 11:00PM or Other Client-based Schedules)
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed.
