What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer II position at Ezurio?
With general supervision, the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer II performs regulatory compliance testing on third-party products according to established guidelines. Demonstrates and practices general knowledge of the applicable testing outlined within scope of accreditation and ensures work performed is in compliance with the guidelines of the Quality Manual, and ISO/IEC 17025: 2005. Legal authorization to work in the US is required. This role is onsite in our Cedarburg, WI office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engineers test programs from inception to completion within the guidelines provided by customer test plans and the scope of project quotations.
- Supports an assigned customer project through coordination, execution, communication, and documentation. This may include the performance of testing or coordinating the performance of testing with other qualified laboratory personnel, constructing the test report upon completion of test project, coordinating the disposition of the test product back to the customer, and continuous communication of project status with customer for the duration of the project.
- Executes multiple test programs built upon the comprehension of a variety of domestic and international test standards, and being able to interpret the applicability of an assortment of test criterion
- Assist customers with compliance issues, either through utilization of in-house EMC solution or design consultation.
- Assists with development of assorted laboratory documentation including project test reports, laboratory test procedures, technical papers, and training documents
REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity with regulatory process, specifically CE, FCC, IC, or equivalent EMC standards
- Familiarity and understanding of wireless technologies, specifically Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa
- Competency with test instrumentation including spectrum analyzers, antennas, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers
- Experience with test automation tools is a plus
- An advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
- Basic knowledge of a particular technical area
- Positive attitude and ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events
- Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- BS in Engineering, Physics or equivalent
- 2-5 years experience in EMC testing
