What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Technician position at Ezzo Sausage Company?
Ezzo Sausage Company is currently looking for a QA Technician to join a rapidly growing food manufacturing company. This position will train on first shift and possibly transition to 2nd shift. Some of the duties of a QA include, but are not limited to:
- 1. Conduct pre-operational inspection. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, squat.
- 2. Work closely with sanitors regarding proper sanitation and self-inspection.
- 3. Perform MPR testing for finished product.
- 4. Perform product evaluations.
- 5. Monitor and enforce all food safety, quality, regulatory, SQF and customer policies, programs and requirements.
- 6. Conduct environmental listeria, APC and ATP swabbing.
- 7. Verify KPIs are being met.
- 8. Verify HACCP CCPs are being met and address any deviations.
- 9. Place product, equipment and areas on QA hold that are deficient and track via hold tag log.
- 10. Assist FSQA Manager in preparing for and then participate in SQF and customer audits.
- 11. Perform internal Facility/GMP audits and communicate findings to applicable departments, follow up on corrective actions.
- 12. Help prepare for internal SQF audit.
- 13. Prepare and send out samples and swabs to outside labs.
- 14. Liaison with USDA.
- 15. Assist FSQA Manager in annual training of associates.
- 16. Contribute to the development of SOPs and other programs and policies.
- 17. Review and file documents.
- 18. Prepare export documents.
- 19. Coaching associates on proper GMPs.
- 20. Calibration of pH meter, thermometers, scales.
- 21. Annual recertification of testing equipment requiring calibration.
- 22. CoA verification.
- 23. Incoming/outbound product and trailer inspection.
- 24. Verify proper labeling of product and packaging.
- 25. Monitor and verify metal detection.
- 26. Investigate foreign material incidents.
- 27. Investigate customer complaints.
- 28. Follow safe work practices and monitor fellow associates’ safety.
