Independent Sales & Account Representative – Home Improvement Industry

Location: 283 W 154th St South Holland, IL
Position Type: Independent Contractor (Commission-Based)
Compensation: Unlimited earning potential – 3% to 10% commission on every sale (no cap)

We are seeking an independent Sales & Account Representative to help drive business growth by developing new accounts, managing client relationships, and maximizing revenue opportunities. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, results-driven sales professional looking for unlimited earning potential in a performance-based environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand client base by identifying new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and home improvement professionals.
  • Conduct in-home and office sales presentations, including product demonstrations and consultations.
  • Provide expert product knowledge on flooring, lighting, and doors to guide purchasing decisions.
  • Achieve a monthly minimum of self-generated sales through business development efforts.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions, both in-person and virtually.
  • Close deals effectively and ensure timely follow-ups for order fulfillment.
  • Work closely with internal teams to coordinate sales orders, pricing, and customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, sales activities, and customer interactions in a CRM system.
  • Use electronic tablets and measuring devices in connection with sales presentations.
  • Ensure a professional, customer-focused approach, delivering exceptional service.
  • Availability for evening and weekend appointments to accommodate customer needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in home improvement, building materials, flooring, lighting, or doors.
  • Proven ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Strong business development skills, with a focus on relationship management and client retention.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with room for flooring sample boards.
  • Ability to travel locally to meet customers in their homes, offices, and job sites.
  • Experience using CRM tools and sales tracking systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline, and meet deadlines.

  • 100% commission-based structure with no cap on earnings.
