The Lifeguard with 730 Crown Spa LLC at Aman New York will meet and exceed guest expectations by providing efficient and courteous spa and wellness services in accordance with the company’s standards. The Lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment in and around the pool area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa and Fitness Center.
- Maintain a clean pool environment and maintain inventory of supplies for the pool operations of the spa.
- Identify and report potential accident hazards and safety issues to management.
- Rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning and administer first aid, CPR in the event of injury, if necessary.
- To be attentive to the prevention of accidents in and around the pool.
- Open and close the pool each day according to scheduled hours.
- To attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly spa and fitness meetings.
- Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary and must adhere to training as set down by the Spa and Fitness Management.
- Must have the ability to courteously interact and answer all spa and hotel related questions with guests.
- Assist in all areas of the pool and spa as and when necessary.
- Assist with cleaning of pool area outside of operation hours.
- To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
- Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position or assigned by the Spa Management.
- To assist in the smooth flow of the guest’s journey throughout the day.
- To receive training to ensure that all-relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at work law and health and hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the spa.
- Will greet each guest with a smile and acknowledge the guest even in passing.
- Will proactively offer assistance to all spa guests when necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of all spa, fitness and member activities, spa treatments, spa products, fitness and wellness programs in addition to additional hotel services, room, F&B, etc.
- Handle guest complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, informing supervisor when required, to ensure follow through and the problems are resolved satisfactorily.
- Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by spa management team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Lifeguard
- Lifeguard certification required
- CPR and first aid certification required
- Positive, engaging, and energetic personality
- Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision
- Very high attention to detail
- Sensitive to cultural nuances
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
- Multi-lingual is a plus
