The Material Operations Manager reports to the Director of Procurement. This role involves directing and coordinating the daily operations of multiple Stores locations. The Material Operations Manager will be required to engage with and hold both external and internal service providers, customer representatives, suppliers, and employees accountable for procedural compliance and operational performance goals while maintaining excellent working relationships. This position requires a mature and influential leader with in-depth Supply Chain experience who can drive best practices and ensure effective collaboration across multiple company departments including Procurement, Technical Operations, Quality, Safety, and Compliance. This is also a significant leadership role requiring solid communication and relationship skills, and a strong understanding of aircraft material and logistics processes.

Job Duties:

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Stores and Logistics staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Operations Leadership: Responsible for the successful operation of multiple supply point locations on a 24/7 basis, including meeting all required service levels to maintenance and other internal customers.
• Training and Compliance: Provide operational guidance to staff and ensure training and compliance with policies and procedures related to processes, safety, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g. FAA, DOT, IATA, Federal, State, and local).
• Fulfillment: Work with Procurement to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of requisitioned materials and services.
• Inventory Control: Work with company personnel to ensure proper performance of inventory accuracy and control responsibilities.
• Customer-Owned Material: Work closely with customer representatives to support and control their material.
• Procedural Oversight: Establish and maintain detailed working knowledge of all business systems applicable to the operation of aviation warehousing and shipment activities to ensure effective oversight of related enterprise material operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote and execute continuous improvement in material operations function and other quality-driven programs - working knowledge of Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, and Lean practices are essential.
• Staffing: Develop and maintain staff work schedules to ensure optimal support for 24/7 MRO operations in a cost-effective manner.
• Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate records are maintained in accordance with company policies, the Repair Station Manual, and applicable regulations.
• Technology and Data Management Requirements: Identify data and systems requirements to support ongoing and future operation of warehousing and distribution.
• Risk Management: Employ risk mitigation techniques related to warehousing and shipping activities, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
• Performance Monitoring: Analyze key performance indicator (KPI) data to drive improvement and corrective actions to warehousing, fulfillment, and distribution processes and initiatives.
• Other Related Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Procurement.

Basic Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Warehousing Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related area, or equivalent years’ experience.
• 7 years in warehousing, distribution, or related roles with a focus in aviation.
• Record of achievement in warehousing, LEAN, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Must possess strong logistics acumen and a highly professional demeanor.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with strong managerial courage and ability to influence positive outcomes.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in business system and tools, including ERP systems and e-procurement platforms.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
