What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Office Cashier position at F. F. Thompson Health?
Schedule: Full time - days
Main Function:
- Daily receives and records over the counter payments from patients, guarantors, insurance companies, hospital staff, cafeteria sales, Family Practices, Foundation and services and other hospital sponsored programs.
- Responsible for maintaining billing functions of retiree benefits.
- Responsible for handling a cash drawer and daily balancing of the drawer.
- Collects and balances Co-Pay sheets from all registration areas of the Hospital.
- Handles all associate ticket sales.
- Prepare daily bank deposits along with using electronic banking deposits.
- Works closely with Finance with any reconciliations.
Required Job Specific Competencies:
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently & exhibits flexibility in decision making & prioritizing assignments.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all Continuing Care Center associates as well as Hospital associates.
- Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the residents, staff and the Health System.
- Lives the CARES values at all times.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Associate Degree in accounting or business preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered
Experience:
- Two years accounting or business experience in health care, knowledge and skills in basic accounting. Computer literacy required. Excellent communication skills and quality customer relations skills are required.
Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00
