Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our facility, contributing to our mission of quality and excellence in lumber production.

Shift Schedule:

Swing Shift; 1:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Monday – Thursday 10 1/2hr shift ½ unpaid lunch

Wage: Starts at $22.55/Hr. with a $0.45 differential for swing = $23.00/Hr.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old. Strong safety performance and reliable attendance are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in safe forklift and loader operations, and lumber handling. This role requires: good depth perception, eyesight, and coordination for effective machine operation. The ability to remain seated for long shifts while maneuvering the forklift, often on rough or uneven surfaces. Frequent climbing in and out of the forklift, using small steps and handrails for support. Working in varying temperatures, including extreme heat or cold, on uneven terrain, and exposure to dust, noise, and vibrations. Heavy equipment, mechanical background, with knowledge of dimensional lumber and dry kiln operations preferred

Responsibilities

· Operates forklift to move completed lumber units from the Sawmill outfeed to the lumber inventory yard

· Tallies and tickets lumber units correctly

· Accurately places lumber units in the inventory yard efficiently without damage to lumber

· Helps transport lumber, sticker racks, and cleanup carts to and from the Planer Dep.

· Adheres to all company safety procedures and policies

· Ability to take direction and work independently

· Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and Foremen

· Punctuality and attendance are essential to the position

· Maintains a clean work area and inspects equipment daily

· Reports all equipment issues to the mechanical shop immediately when noticed

· Performs other duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.45 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
